is a global protest for M.E. rights. It is not an ME Association initiative, but we fully support its aims of raising awareness of ME as an underfunded and overlooked disease.
The global campaign starts today – 11th May – in cities across the UK, and indeed the world, asking for
– increased government funding for research,
– clinical trials,
– medical education and
– public awareness.
So good luck to everyone involved over the next few days – those who are well enough to travel to be there in person, and to those who cannot travel but have sent their shoes instead.
People like Michelle. She writes: “Despite every effort to the contrary I’m now a severe ME sufferer, almost totally housebound and largely bedbound relying on others to do things for me, often even the basic tasks that when I was able bodied I took for granted. It’s not an easy adjustment for someone who was fiercely independent….. ”.
Michelle is doing all she can to raise awareness of ME this week.
As are we. Please see our website for information on our full ME awareness campaign for 2017.
